After being abroad for 2 weeks I had plans to travel in the UK for a few days starting with Scotland and Edinburgh. We weren't very lucky with the weather it was rainy, surprise surprise, but it was beautiful. We just walked about and went to a botanic garden. A post coming up soon on that, you will be overwhelmed with a lot of flowery shots, literally. The pics of the little jams and the cute pastel shop aren't actually related but they fitted this post better than a plant one. We only had very limited time in Edinburgh, I was actually quite disappointed with the Edinburgh Uni, I either didn't find it or it just really is quite ugly. Well Im not doing masters there now am I. I might actually change my mind, the city is cute apart from the rain. Again, I apologise for the spacing and everything, I cried begged and kneeled but blogger just won't accept it. Very bad behaviour, stop it.

Albufeira
My Birthday day! Went to Albufeira, the closest town to my hotel to "celebrate." It was quite a charming place with these lovely colourful streets, it felt very positive. I had the best but also the quickest melting raspberry icecream in a long time. Didn't even taste like icecream, more like crushed frozen raspberries. As I can't seem to find the proper name for this I'll leave you with a recipe on how to make a summery raspberry cocktail.
You will need:
70g of raspberries
150ml of milk
25g of sugar
a few ice cubes
Blend the raspberries then add milk and sugar and mix again. Allow to stand for 5 minutes then serve in a tall glass over crushed ice.
Easy and healthy.

Lisbon delicacies
Hey guys, one more update from Lisbon. We stopped to have lunch, I was persuaded by comments like: You're only here once and so I decided to treat myself to a real restaurant meal. As it was my Birthday week and all. After I was looking over the menu for about 10 minutes, which was the longest of us three, (to be fair I'm always the one that takes the most time before ordering food) and finally decided to go for something I have never had before. Mr. Octopus. Yes, I had octopus. After the initial ugh, am I really to eat this thing, I overcame myself and tried the first tentacle (I despise the word tentacle, it somehow reminds me of testicle) and despite this it was actually tasty! So yeah, my first encounter with Mr. Octopus.

Lisbon
My next travelling stop over Easter was Portugal. I went with four of my friends, we had a nice girly holiday. It was meant to be cheap and warm, well in the end it was neither. Still about 10 degrees warmer than England so I'm happy. It was my Birthday week but don't hold your breath guys, I didn't do anything special for the actual day.
One of the days three of us decided to go to Lisbon. Took three hours from Albufeira, where we were staying, by a bus full of mainly elderly people. Lisbon is one of the oldest cities in Europe and it is pretty indeed. We were quite lucky with the weather, it was sunny and warmish, although windy.
When we were walking on the main streets all the restaurants were trying to convince us to eat at their place. It was funny but then it started to be a bit too much. They would ask you where you were from and if you were from England, France, Germany, Spain, Italy or god knows where else they would immediately start speaking to you in that language. Doubt they spoke Slovak though, haha.
There's a selection of pictures just for your enjoyment.

Aarhus culture
Aarhus Univeristy is the place where my friend studies at the moment. We've seen a lot a been everywhere over the two days, actually, I got more pictures but I'll just make another post, don't want to overwhelm you too much. We went to the museum of Aarhus village, that's where the glasshouse picture is from, it was beautiful and we spent almost 3 hours there. They had oldschool everything. Perhaps it wasn't as good as Australian Sovereign Hill but it was definitely worth the free 50% off students with 50% off vouchers admission.
After accidentally falling into my first proper flea market which, by the way, was amazing and I only wished I had more time, money and luggage space, we went to the notoriously known rainbow museum. It is beautiful and I actually have about 50 pictures from there so perhaps I'll share some later. I loved the exhibitions they had on, it was a Sunday and let me tell you dear friends that it was packed. Seems like Danish people can appreciate some serious culture time.
I shall be watching

Oslo 2
Updating my Easter travel diary - it's about time, right - I am putting up some pictures from Oslo. Both first and last one are from this park, its name I can't recall, that has countless statues of naked people in it. The second picture has a cute little heart in it, I don't know why it's there, whether there even is some special reason for it but I think it's just a lovely touch in the city and it truly makes me go 'aw'. The third picture, I'm in love, is how I imagine my country house will look like (would look like?) all white with a big balcony and porch with tiny daffodils in bloom, bright rooms inside and flea market furniture. I would not want it to be in Oslo and I'd want it to be a part of a big estate. Well I'll quit dreaming now and just give you a valuable piece of advise, Oslo in april is like England in december but a lot less green. So if you ever plan to visit, you better schedule it for the warmer months when it's not so grim. Just that.
Please forgive the weird picture spacing, I gave up trying to force the blogger draft to work. The only way I can put it in my desired order is when I upload pictures backwards, that is the last picture is uploaded as the first one but I still haven't found the secret technique how to keep blogger from fudging up the spacing.
